The best marketing in the world isn't half as powerful as the word of a good friend,
and people have been talking us up!

This month's featured putting green is especially unique, both in its suspended architecture and its pristine location.

Perched high over Baker Lake in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, this jutting putting green catches the eyes of passing boaters; who sometimes stop just to get a better look.

"It's probably the retaining wall that they see first," says owner Pam Jan with a smile. "It's quite a sight from the water!" Friends and family are more fortunate, being able to enjoy the green first-hand; some recently visiting nieces were on putting and chipping it every day.

Her husband, Kolin, an avid golfer like Pam, had been looking for ways to cut down on mowing their lakeside embankment. That's when she started researching putting greens on the web, and found that nothing compared to quality of Putter's Edge. It wasn't total serendipity, though - her good friend in Virginia was on a similar quest and recommended Terry Elkin, the founder of Putter's Edge.

"Terry was great - he came here personally, within three days of our initial contact," beamed Pam. "His crew was awesome and any concerns we had were rectified immediately. They were just wonderful, especially considering the tricky job of preparing the wall and the ground!"

Though the creation of the base and the sturdy retaining wall was indeed a technical feat, the couple is delighted with the beautiful result and the transformation of their backyard. "It was pretty back here before, but now... just awesome. Nothing but kudos to Terry and his entire crew."

And now another good friend of theirs - a professional golfer - is travelling in to try it. He had owned a live bentgrass green at his home, but felt there was far too much upkeep. Not surprisingly, it only worked well for about 6 months, and now he's interested in a Putter's Edge solution... it's a shame he didn't hear the good "word-of-mouth" first!
